The VNA Health Care Center at the Jeff Craig Family Resource Center is a collaboration between VNA Health Care and West Aurora School District 129.
This School-Linked VNA Health Care Center offers essential primary care health services in one convenient location, including minor illness and injury care, checkups and vaccinations, school and sports physicals, and counseling services. VNA also provides referrals for off-site services such as vision, dental, and family counseling, and to community organizations that assist with food, housing, and other necessities.
Annual physical exams help students stay healthy and ready for school activities. We provide school and sports physicals, check growth and development, and offer wellness exams and routine healths screenings.
Treatment for everyday illnesses and minor injuries, including sore throats, ear pain, colds, and mild muscle or joint injuries. Our team provides timely care right at school.
Support for students with chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, or seizure disorders. We evaluate symptoms, provide treatment when needed, and make sure students are safe and comfortable.
Women’s health care at VNA includes exams, free pregnancy testing, lab tests, counseling, and education. Our providers offer compassionate, confidential support to help young women take an active role in their health and well-being.
Supportive mental and behavioral health care for ADHD, stress, depression, and emotional well-being. We help students manage challenges that can affect school, relationships, and daily life.
Supportive nutrition and healthy lifestyle counseling focused on building practical habits that promote student health and well-being.
Vaccinations that help protect students from preventable illnesses and support overall health. Our care team tracks immunizations and provides guidance to help students stay healthy throughout the school year.
We provide other services for students, including:
• Referrals for vision, dental, family counseling, and other services.
• Smoking, vaping, alcohol, and drug use prevention education.
• Lead screening, TB tests, and other laboratory services.
To access the services offered at the center, as well as transportation to and from school, patients must be students in West Aurora School District 129. We also require a signed VNA parent/guardian consent form on file. You can submit the consent form online or in person. For in-person, you have to print, complete, and return a copy in person to the student’s school Health Office.
For sick care or to schedule an appointment, contact the nurses at the school Health Office or make an appointment online.
VNA accepts Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, and uninsured patients. No fees are due at the time of service. No student will be turned away for an inability to pay.
Students get quality, affordable health care during the school day, reducing school absences and the need for parents to take time away from work. VNA can also communicate with your student’s regular doctor, if applicable.
By removing as many barriers as possible, we can ensure students have what they need to focus on their education in the classroom.
